John Temple

We are proud to honor John Temple as 2025 Distinguished Service recipient for his decades of visionary leadership and unwavering dedication. To say the Research Park would not exist without John is no exaggeration, it’s a tribute to his persistence and extraordinary service. In the early 1980s, presented with little more than an idea, John and his partner Bill Shubin transformed a vision into reality by developing what is now a 12-building, 400,000 square foot campus dedicated to research and innovation, with room to still grow. John’s legacy extends far beyond the Research Park. He served on FAU’s inaugural Board of Trustees and the State University System’s inaugural Board of Governors, and he served our country as a U.S. Navy engineering submariner. With a professional life marked by impact, innovation, and public service, John Temple’s contributions have shaped the growth of Florida Atlantic and the broader South Florida community.

We are deeply grateful for his many years of distinguished service.Â
