Dr. Joseph G. Ouslander, professor and senior associate dean for geriatric programs and chair of the Department of Integrated Medical Science at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University, was honored as the inaugural recipient of the Distinguished Researcher Award.
A nationally recognized leader in geriatric care, Dr. Ouslander developed a transformative quality improvement program that helps long-term care facilities enhance patient outcomes and reduce avoidable hospitalizations. His work led to the creation of a new company, supported by the Technology Business Incubator (now Global Ventures), now working with healthcare facilities across the country. His research has received endorsements from prominent clinicians and scholars at Florida Atlantic, Northeastern University, and Emory University.
