Michael Daszkal, who began his service as a member of the Authority in July 2007 just as a sale of the major assets in the Park was on the horizon, one that would take months of arduous negotiations to complete. In 2010, Michael was elected chairman of the Authority and the incumbent president passed away, leaving Michael to manage the day-to-day affairs of the Authority, the Research Park at FAU, and the search for the next president in addition to running his own successful business. Michael skillfully and kindly spent time mentoring the new president in 2011, making sure nothing was left unattended or incomplete. He was elected chairman for a second time in 2017, and he completed his second two-year term as chairman successfully in 2018.Â
Few members have been elected to serve in the chair twice and it is a testament to the dedication Michael had for this position of trust that his colleagues elected him to the role twice. Michael has always made sure our mission and needs were well known in the community and that all our events are well attended, well sponsored and well publicized to the other organizations he is a part of. Perhaps most importantly and characteristically, Michael has always taken a keen interest in the well-being of the staff of the Authority and made sure they are heard, respected and taken care of. Through his work with FAU and the Research Park, Michael Daszkal continues to support a dynamic ecosystem where education, entrepreneurship, and industry converge to drive sustainable economic impact.
