Celebrating forty years of driving innovation and entrepreneurship, the Research Park at Florida Atlantic continues to play a pivotal role in South Florida’s economic growth
BOCA RATON, Fla. (January 8, 2025) – A lot can change in 40 years, and Boca Raton has experienced significant transformation during that time. New developments, new companies, new technologies, and much of the region’s economic development can be attributed to the efforts of the Research Park at Florida Atlantic. Since its inception in 1985, the Research Park has been a driving force behind Boca Raton’s identity as a technology business hub, playing a crucial role in the region’s economic growth. It has supported numerous companies, created thousands of jobs, supported product launches and research initiatives, and has diversified the thriving regional economy.
Since its establishment, the Research Park at Florida Atlantic University has played a critical role in helping numerous successful companies thrive in Boca Raton and South Florida. Notable examples include Mod Med, The Silverlogic, and ShipMonk, all of which were featured on the 2024 Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing companies in the nation.
Additionally, Flospine and Aventusoft, both graduates of the Park’s Global Ventures program, have expanded into the Research Park recently. Aventusoft was recognized by the South Florida Business Journal as one of the fastest-growing private companies in South Florida, alongside MPLT Healthcare, another large tenant of the Research Park.
The Park also supports Instrumentum, Thema Brain Health, and HelixVM, which were finalists in the 14th Annual GrowFL Companies to Watch. Furthermore, the South Florida Business Journal acknowledged the Park’s significant contributions to innovation and growth in the region through their annual Inno Fire Awards. The success of these companies reflects the Park’s commitment to fostering their growth. Twenty growing, technology-focused ventures are based at the Research Park, joined by twenty-eight Global Ventures enterprises.
The Research Park at Florida Atlantic will mark this significant milestone with a series of special events and initiatives, celebrating its history, achievements, and its continued commitment to innovation and entrepreneurship.
Starting its celebration strong, the Research Park at Florida Atlantic will host its inaugural Economic Outlook Conference on January 27, 2025. In partnership with the Florida Atlantic College of Business, this event will bring together business leaders and industry experts to explore economic trends shaping 2025 as a pivotal year. Attendees will not only gain valuable insights on critical topics such as banking and Federal Reserve policy, supply chain resilience, inflation, and GDP forecasting, but also have the opportunity to network with their peers and industry leaders.
As part of this momentous occasion, the Research Park at Florida Atlantic is also excited to unveil its fortieth-anniversary logo, a symbol of innovation, growth, connectivity, and business partnerships that have defined the Research Park over the past four decades.
To further commemorate this milestone, the Research Park will host its 40th Anniversary Awards on May 15, 2025. This prestigious event will celebrate three exceptional, innovative leaders and one outstanding organization that have made a significant impact on the South Florida community. This year, the celebration will take place aboard the luxurious Grand Princess, a chartered vessel that will cruise the beautiful Boca Raton intercoastal waters, offering a stunning and memorable experience for guests.
As the Research Park celebrates this momentous milestone, it remains dedicated to fostering innovation in affiliation with Florida Atlantic University, supporting entrepreneurs with big ideas, and driving economic growth in the South Florida region and beyond. Looking ahead, it plans to grow its legacy, advancing its mission to empower visionary leaders and groundbreaking companies that will shape the future of the place millions call paradise – South Florida.
